Hun Manet: The Prime Minister and First Lady Always Pay Attention to Veterans with Disabilities

BANTEAY MEANCHEY: Deputy Commander of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces and Commander of the Army, Gen. Hun Manet, has said that the Prime Minister and First Lady have always paid attention to the well-being of veterans with disabilities who made sacrifices to defend the nation and people of Cambodia in exchange for peace and development.

Gen. Hun Manet made this statement during the transfer ceremony of military officers from the 317 Techo Phnom Chhat Army Infantry Development Center in Banteay Meanchey province on 12 April 2023.

He added that the Royal Government of Cambodia also pays close attention to the disability sector as a whole, setting out and implementing new policies to improve the lives of persons with disabilities in order to help veterans and their families live honored and dignified lives without discrimination and with access to all social and public services.

He shared that the establishment of disability military development centers in various parts of the country is just one policy implemented by the Royal Government to improve the living standards and well-being of veterans with disabilities, in accordance with available development opportunities in the country, which contribute to peace, stability, economic growth and better livelihoods.

Gen. Hun Manet also thanked veterans with disabilities who have always trusted and shown support to the Royal Government, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic. He thanked the many soldiers and veterans who volunteered to help get everyone vaccinated and wished for their continued confidence in the Prime Minister's leadership, in order to continue protecting what Cambodia has already attained and working toward developing the nation to be even more prosperous.
